A trip to San Antonio isn’t the same without a stop at the Sichuan House. Their house made wontons in the broth (with spice on the side), the braised pork belly on mustard greens, the spicy crispy chicken...nothing we have eaten has disappointed us. This is my favorite place to eat in San Antonio.
This is probably the best restaurant we have ever eaten at in San Antonio -- and we have been to a lot of restaurants. This is also the only authentic Chinese restaurant that we have found in San Antonio; you will not find sweet & sour pork or beef & broccoli here. I don't think we have ever had a bad dish here, but there are some things that we like better than others (any of the pork belly dishes, the cold garlicky noodles, and the lover's bridge ribs among others.) Beef with Chinese broccoli was amazing! So good and great service.
Everything that I ordered was delicious. Home style combo lo mein, hot and sour soup and spicy crispy chicken. I love spicy food and the chilies in the spicy crispy chicken are amazing, not too hot just delicious.
