An out-of-state buyer bought the building I was renting in. They contracted with S.I. Property Management to "manage" the building. Immediately things got much worse. The quality of workmanship on rare repairs was deplorable. Problems were either never addressed or got worse. Speaking to workmen working on the roof or other parts of the building, I learned many weren't even licensed but were just low-cost contractors. I moved into an apartment in southern Illinois recently and really appreciated the ease at which everything went in renting the property. Hunter made the process seamless from beginning to end. We worked with this company as owners for more than 10 years. The service has at times been good and at times been horrendous. We've recently broke with the company because of severe mismanagement, lying, not picking up the phone (for us or for tenants). We cannot reach the office or maintenance. When problems with the property, we are sometimes contacted, sometimes not. We have asked for bids for large maintenance and not received them.
