I love Shutters On the Banks! My wife and I have stayed there 4 times, and we booked the Honeymoon Suite for our anniversary this year. The staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast area is on a cover veranda that is very pleasant in the morning. We will definitely be back again. I included a sunset photo from the their beach.
I recently stayed at Shutters on the Banks in the Outer Banks and was very disappointed with the attitude of the senior staff. I had called ahead and specifically requested a first-floor room. Upon arrival, I was given a ground-floor room, and when I questioned it, the staff rudely replied that their “first floor is the ground level” and that those rooms don’t come with balconies. Had a nice one night stay while I was driving down the coast. It is convenient to the Wright Bros Memorial and of course the beach. They have a walkway heading from the hotel to the beach for easy access. The room was clean and cozy, I had no issues. It was also in the shoulder season, so they were not very busy.
Great hotel , the rooms were clean and lots of room. We had a room with a balcony with a great view of the ocean. One min walk to the beach can’t beat that. 2 pools both very warm. Breakfast was average. But it was nice it was there and didn’t need to go out. Would stay there again for sure.
