Better builders are available. When spending a lot of money you would hope to get the very basics, but unfortunately with Shurm we didn’t get that. Our floors 2-3 years into our new home are falling apart to name one of many issues. The kicker here is we filed it under their warranty. They refuse to fix or even help get it fixed. I have gaps, cracks, and complete holes in the floor. When I say refuse they just don’t answer or pass the blame to someone else. 2/5 stars because the walls are still standing at least….
My family's experience with Shurm Homes was excellent. Every department was knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive...from sales and design to construction management and even ownership's involvement was essential to the completion of our home buying process. Do not buy from Shurm! We purchased a home from them about 4 years ago and have been fighting them ever since about a floor issue. They claim is it cosmetic when in fact they installed our floor trusses UPSIDE DOWN!
So far so good, a truly fine oiled home building machine. For today’s standard their very good all the way around, we close in a week so technically the jury’s still out but I see no reason or red flags to indicate anything but a grand slam, I’m very satisfied so far. 16 months update: we have been in our home now 16 months, we had our one year walk through 4 months ago , just natural little stuff,nothing big. Shurm review Our experience with Shurm homes has been nothing but positive. From the beginning stages of finding a model to picking the finishing touches Anna, Karly and the team at Shurm kept us updated with regular emails.
