Update: My mom wanted to go here for Mother's Day. So, I returned and the food and service were wonderful. We ordered chicken fried steak and catfish. Every single bite was delish! So glad to have our local Shumardii's as a great option. Updated review to reflect most recent experience From 2 years ago... Super service. Romantic secluded both
Stopped here for lunch with a buddy of mine. Looked decent from the outside but just a couple of cars in the parking lot around noon…not a good sign. We were greeted quickly and seated in booth 33. Inside was nice, high ceilings covered with ornamental tin, lots of wood paneling, nice bar. I ordered the sausage plate, not bad but not great. It had wonderful and polite service. Atmosphere is very private and pleasant and the food was the best. The best restaurant I have been to in decades.
Sunday April 19, 2026. Upon entering the restaurant there was a strong sewer smell. Despite that we took the high road and ordered food. I ordered the brisket plate, sautéed mushrooms, steamed broccoli. The brisket was burnt and the mushrooms were bad like they had soured.
