As the name suggests, oysters are the focus of this downtown restaurant called Shuckers, located in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Twelve local varieties of oysters are available in single servings, by the half dozen and by the dozen. The restaurant has dark wood and a high ceiling, similar to a traditional pub, and dress is fairly casual. Really classy bar. Bartenders who know how to make a martini (it is surprising how many don't at other places); good oyster selection and a yummy fried cheese bar snack.
Outstanding food and service ! A must when in Seattle......
Try to reserve a table by the window or 1/2 booth (along the wall). Beautiful decor. Food was fabulous. Olympic oysters were terrific & the fennel Apple salad literally changed my life. We were there on a Friday night & there were several small children- I thought that sort of odd but figured it is because it's in a hotel.
We have been dining at Shuckers for years. The last two for our Christmas dinner. We were not disappointed. Love the warm and inviting atmosphere. The service is attentive. The crab Mac and cheese is to die for. Will keep going back.
You have to find it. Don't look for a big sign telling you "we are here!". Once inside the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was delightful. Our waiter was so nice without being in the middle of our giggly conversation too much. Will definitely visit again.
