This noisy restaurant, with its mismatched tables and chairs and crepe paper streamers, is considered by many to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in the state. The extensive menu Shuang Cheng Restaurant features numerous dishes containing seafood, fish, beef, pork and poultry. The seafood asparagus stir-fry with shrimp, scallops, squid and asparagus is sure to please. Try the soft-shell crab in black bean sauce, or ask for a whole walleye to be brought to your table. The fresh rice noodles tossed with shrimp and scallo... read more

One of my lifetime favorites! – I just ate dinner here with my family tonight (Sunday night 7pm). We didn't even look at the menu, only the greaseboard, like everyone recommended. We had 3 dishes: "Seafood w/asparagus", "Stir-fried green beans", and "Beef Chow Fun". We absolutely loved the green beans and chow fun. Outstanding. Seafood w/asparagus was good too, but it just didn't match our cravings for tonight. Friendly service. Seated right away. I looked around at what everyone else was ordering--I saw a LOT of people orde... read more
Yummy – I think this is the best Chinese restaurant in the Twin Cities. Do yourself a favor and order off of the grease board and not the menu. They have some of the best seafood in the area. I love the salt and pepper shrimp (not on the menu but they'll cook it for you), the chicken with asparagus and the beef with orange sauce. Skip the watered down generic stuff like chop suey. But be sure to get some seafood with one of your orders. The atmosphere isn't the great but the wonderful food makes up for it.
Best Chinese in Town – While I respect the opinion of anyone who may give Shuang Cheng a negative review, I would add that they must have not tried the right dishes. This is, by far and away, the best Chinese place in town. In fact, it ranks as one of the best seafood places as well. Some free advice - be adventurous here. Don't even look at the huge menu. Go right to the illuminated board and select some seafood creations like the giant oysters in black bean sauce, the whole walleye or the sole w/ asparagus. You won't be di... read more
Great Food – This place has the best walleye I've ever ate. Great authentic chinese food.
A favorite – This is one of my all time favorites in terms of Chinese food. I've eaten at SC on a regular basis for the past ten years now. The food is still as good as always. The seafood dishes are always fresh and tasty and the price has remained fair. The fried seabass with ginger and scallions soy sauce is a delicious dish if you want to try something new. I highly recommend it.
Focus on the Food – OK, the atmosphere is terrible. I mean really bad. Formica and florecent lights. Easy-clean plastic and the same old soy sauce bottles and paper placemats you get at any "here today, gone tomorrow" Chinese place. But the food. Ahhh, the food. The best sweet and sour chicken in town. I've been eating here for--over 10 years? Maybe more. Huge menu, and many items either not on the menu--you have to ask--or listed on a giant whiteboard on the back wall. Focus on the food and all will be right with the world.... read more
All the Chinese eat here – This restaurant in my opinion is the best chinese in Minnesota. Go in there any night of the week and you'd be hard pressed to find an American in there. The Chinese community give this place the thumbs up as it is full of them and that says alot about this restaurant. Dont come here if you're looking for million dollar decor, but if youre looking for top quality tasty authentic chinese food, you wont find anything better.
Dinky's best Chinese spot – By far the best Chinese place around the U, and possibly the Twin Cities. I've never had a mediocre meal here, and never paid more than a marginal tab. The lunch specials are when it's crowded, but for good reason. Five bucks will get you a huge plate heaping with your appetizer, fried rice and the entree and free tea. Gives Village Wok a run for it's money.
Best Chinese in the Twin Cities – No other place in the Twin Cities compares to Shuang Cheng. They are known for their seafood but don't go without trying some other dishes. Their Beef Chow Fun and Singapore Rice Noodle is the best I have ever had. It is busy most evenings, but try it on a Saturday afternoon or early on a weeknight and you won't find a wait. It is a tradition before gopher sporting events so forget about getting through there quick on those nights.
