The don’t know how to talk to rape victims. If you tell them that you’ve been raped they ask when you last had sex referring to rape as if it’s sex which it’s not. Sex is considered consensual. Rape isn’t sex. Sexual contact isn’t exclusive to sex. Nurse “Alice” was very unhelpful she hung up on me after I told her that pretty calmly, I didn’t even raise my voice. Everytime I come here the nurses are wonderful, informative and friendly. Precious clinics I have felt rushed, or judged - but here I just feel so supported. Love the amount of information the nurses gave, and that they seemed to genuinely care. Would never go to any other sexual health clinic now - this one is the best!
Nurse was weird, asked for my deadname despite me saying my names legally changed on Medicare, but insisted it was just incase my files were under another name BEFORE CHECKING. Also asked if I had any trans surgeries for a pee test? To my knowledge pee tests works with a penis or vagina? Being trans id never come here again as I felt I was being weirdly persuaded to admit I was trans.
I recently visited the clinic for the first time,and I couldn't have had a better experience. I was attended by Alice, who was incredibly nice and made me feel very safe throughout the entire process. We even talked about her trip to Brazil, which made the visit feel much more personal and comfortable. When it came time for my vaccine, I was amazed at how painless it was—Alice is truly skilled at what she does.
