Sadly, Jeanette Balfe-Groh, PhD, has obvious dementia, and she must cease practicing immediately. (I, myself, am a medical doctor. 10 years ago, Dr. Balfe-Groh did a good, competent job of performing an expert psychological examination of my history and condition, and she produced a sound report for forensic purposes. One year ago, I returned to her for another examination and report, but her mental condition was so impaired that she could not even write down or accurately remember the things I said.)
I absolutely love Shoreview Mental Health! Jeanette & the wonderful staff at Shoreview Mental Health helped my children & myself through the most difficult time our family has ever been through. After trying 3 other therapist with very minimal results, it has been such a blessing to find such an incredible team to help our family. I have recommended Shoreview Mental Health to several of my family & friends and they are also loving their fantastic experience here.
TLDR: Extremely unprofessional - billing me $20 six months after a free session through my EAP provider! Unbelievable! My workplace provided this clinic as an EAP resource. I went for one session for an objective viewpoint on a challenging work situation. (Conclusion: Time to leave, which I did.) That was no less than six months ago. On Friday, I got a bill in the mail for $20 from them, even though I had four free EAP sessions (and I only used one). I called back, got an answering service. Do not go to this place! I heard they USED to be good, but after taking many tests, I never got a written Assessment I needed to get medications and additional treatment. One time, when sitting in the lobby, I heard Dr. Balfe-Groh tell another staff person that the guy who just walked out the door in front of me was "nuts" and "had been abused by his father."
