Another crazy example of why to avoid this place: management just issued a five-day entry notice, essentially expecting residents to be available for apartment entry at any time during that period. Instead of respecting residents’ time with a reasonably specific appointment, they expect you to put your life on hold for their convenience. I live at Shoreline Gateway, a luxury high-rise in downtown Long Beach, but recent developments have raised serious concerns. Residents were notified of a year-long, building-wide construction project affecting over 300 balconies. The work includes concrete demolition and repairs, waterproofing, railing removal and replacement, and the continuous presence of construction workers directly outside occupied apartments—often just feet from living spaces for extended periods each day. Don’t be fooled by the “luxury” branding—it’s all marketing. Residents are now being notified of a balcony refurbishment project that’s expected to continue into Summer 2027, meaning months (or years) of construction, noise, vibrations, restricted balcony access, and constant disruptions. Management’s notice admits there will be periods where balconies are inaccessible, exterior work will be ongoing, and residents should expect noise and construction activity.
