SUPER SAD SASHIMI I really really really want to like Sho and have given it several chances even though my husband is firm it is mediocre at best. Sho makes many of their items “in house” and I appreciate housemade grub so much. Unfortunately, I think most of their dishes are overpriced and not executed properly. A toddler could’ve cut the fish better than whoever cut mine on the evening of 9/25. Sashimi (and sushi for that matter) is supposed to be delicate and definitely not a thick chunk of fish. $12 and $13 for the “sash... read more
Classy. Sho is an unassuming diamond. The cuisine is authentic, and absolutely delicious. At first glance the exterior of the building might cause you to disregard it, as it is somewhat generic, the sign is old and needing replacement. However, the interior is lovely and well cared for and serene and the food and service are great. Absolutely perfect for an intimate meal.
Good, not great for a 4.5-star spot. Sushi and salmon hand roll were fresh and well-made. Katsu curry was crispy but the sauce felt one-note. Udon broth lacked depth; agedashi tofu sauce was alright. Friendly service and casual vibe, but details and flavors need tightening. Overall: solid for a sushi fix, but I’d peg it at 3.8–4.0/5 rather than 4.5.
Food was good…enjoyed the various sushi we tried. The pork tonkatsu was ok. I’ve had better. Service was fast even though they were quite busy. We had to sit at the bar because there was no seating on a Sunday night unless you had a reservation. I would try it again.
