I was in town visiting family and needed a haircut. I'm so glad I chose to visit Shireman's. They were busy, but took me right in without an appointment. I got a great haircut and beard trim, probably the best I've had in awhile. The atmosphere was comfortable and friendly (think Floyd's). If I lived in Athens I would definitely be a regular.
Service is always prompt with an appointment and I have never been disappointed with my haircut even though I use the first available hairstylist.
Update May 15, 2026 - stopped in for a cut today, same great place. I had a different barber, but he did a great job, exactly as I requested. Recently I traveled to Athens for a few days and needed a haircut. What a gem! The best hair cut I’ve had in years, and the staff is so pleasant. The next time I go to Athens I’m going back to Shireman’s !
Tammy parents cut my hair since I was a kid they would take photos and hang them on mirrors . Very special family just got a haircut yesterday by tammy she's very loyal to her customers not telling my age but it's been a long time
