My wife came to Shira because she was having an affair, she felt trapped and she wanted to get out of the affair and wanted a strategy to come clean with me to see if we can fix this horrible situation and have a chance with each other again. Shira worked with me through cancer treatment. Using her experience as a therapist, her sharp intuition, and her skills with sound, Shira helped me learn to acknowledge and experience my emotions in a healthy way. (this is always a work in progress for me.) Her sessions are unique, and she is a master of her craft.
My experience with Shira has been quite literally life changing. She is very skilled and knowledgeable in her practice in addition to being a wise, compassionate, and powerful guide during sessions. After failing to find help through CBT, I found her style to be very integrated and trauma informed. Her sessions were a real breath of fresh air and I feel they have allowed me to start becoming who I am and creating happiness and efficacy in my life.
Shira was given to our family to provide counseling through our network, MHN. My 19 y/o daughter is very high functioning special needs. When Shira heard that she was special needs, she refused to treat my daughter with counseling. She outright refused to treat telling me I needed to look for someone else. Somehow refusing to treat someone because they have special needs sounds grossly illegal but most importantly its unethical and makes me question the moral standard within person.
