I went on a Sunday morning which means it was incredibly busy. The staff were very diligently working to get all the orders done as quickly as possible. It was impressive. The Bavarian cream donuts were super fresh and excellent, the glazed were really good too, but the chocolate seemed a bit stale with the chocolate firming a very hard crust. Maybe it was because it was pretty early or just the last of a previous run, but not a fan of stale donuts. However, nothing beats really good service.
Cold stale donuts, they felt like theyd been sitting out all day. She wouldnt offer a refund or make a fresh batch but she offered me her microwave....seriously? I also enjoyed how she played deaf on the phone then left it off the hook after. Seems like Shipleys has gone down hill.
Note that I’m a fan of Shipley donuts so I like the way the donuts are made I like their flavors. I like this overall store concept which is typically more to just grab and go versus sit and stay service was friendly extremely prompt able to walk in and grab my donuts there was no line apple fritter was fluffy and actually had some apple inside of it. Not what it used to be. Definitely doesn’t taste the same. Hope the new owners aren’t changing recipes
