Ship Smart is good for small long-distance moves. They pick up your stuff from one location, take it to a warehouse to be weighed, at which time they give you a final cost, and then once paid, send it to a warehouse in your final destination for a local moving company to deliver with appointment. If you want something quickly, this is not the company for you, as it does take about 4-5 weeks from pick up to delivery. They made me sign a contract with a cancellation fee but still haven’t even come To pick up and weigh my items. I’m already in another state.
As part of my attempt to move a small number of items from one coast to the other, there was some confusion at the loading site regarding the contents of my contract. It resulted in far more items being moved then I had desired. In retrospect, I strongly recommend that individuals be present at the loading site when possible. Called this company to get a quote, was told I needed the exact weight of items. As I was asking questions, the sales person simply told me they couldn't help me and hung up. Great service guys, very professional.
