Easy process, buy the ticket online, show up, and ferry out to the island. Enjoyable time on the island, sand and water was perfect during my time there. The history of the fort was interesting and the park ranger took the time to explain the history.
We brought our kids here back in the nineties every year, and it is an amazing thing to do with kids. The only thing missing is the photo they would take of your family or group before boarding, and they would give/sale to you when you returned. I don’t believe they do that anymore, but my kids loved seeing the dolphins swimming beside the cruiser on the way to the Island and on the way back. Plus the boats are docketed at the Beautiful Jones Park and Marina in Gulfport MS.
I went on the sunset cruise and it was awesome me and my friends really enjoyed it. We plan to go again.
What a great time we had! Nice smooth sailing all the way to the island, plenty of dolphins to see as well. The crew is more than friendly and are very knowledgedable too. Many things to see on the island, your eyes open for rays while walking to the beach. We didnt see any of the resident gators, but keep any eye out for them too.
