Hakata is a great pick me up, huge comfort food for me. Always consistent in terms of quality, that is why I come back.
I’ve eaten at Shin-Sen-Gumi many times, but my recent visit to the Irvine Town Center location was straight-up disappointing. I ordered ramen and got two tiny, pathetic slices of pork that looked like they were sliced from scraps. Nowhere near the portions I’ve had before. I politely asked about it, and the staff just brushed me off with “it’s always like that” — no effort to explain, fix it, or even pretend to care.
