I was here when I was 13 years old for 2 days because of my issues with depression and self harm, the first thing I was told by the staff was that nobody in the facility was my friend and I would probably be there for the rest of my life, I witnessed other girls being treated terribly in times of distress and I only made it out due to breaking rules and contacting my mother for help. This place still exist. I was here in the late 1990s early 2000s. I stayed at the Red House. I was accused of being suicidal never was it was another girl that lived in the manufactured homes. They had just built at that time and we looked similar, but we were three years apart. She was 16 I was 12/13. They put me on all types of meds. They would lie on my charts just to keep and have my level of care high being a 6 so I would have to stay. The abuse was real. From physical abuse to medical abuse.
