My experience at Shiloh occured when I was 14-15 years old in 2004-2005. We were kept in what was called a "low stimulus," environment which seemed to be helpful for the girls and myself that I lived with. In our group we didn't have anyone bucking the system and seemed to get along with each other and the staff. I think I needed the low stimulus environment that Shiloh provided. The entire time I was there we went on one outing to the tacobell drive through which we were told was because we were being so good. We watched a ... read more
I am so sorry to hear that a young girl lost her life at Shiloh back in 2001; I had never heard that story until now. I do not know her specific story, and it is incredibly tragic. I am also truly sorry that others felt their experience there was abusive. Everyone’s journey is different. I was a little girl when my brother, that is 2 yrs younger than me, intellectually delayed, deaf, and with mental health issues was placed here. It was in the mid 90s. We could never visit where my brother lived. We had to drop him off at another trailer location when the offices were closed. My brother would cry and struggle to return him back after weekend visits. He also ended up with a broken arm being there. He had to have a metal rod placed in his arm. I remember my mom talking about the topic of legal guardianship and... read more
I am happy to see accurate reviews of this place. I was here when I was 15 16 and suffered trauma and abuse. I knew Stephanie Duffield we had planted her a memorial tree outside one of the office buildings but it looks like they tore it out. Do not send your children here. In my elegant opinion. I was in woodhouse.
Not everyone will make it out alive. Inhumane individuals and treatment involved. Stephanie Duffield (16) died of restraint in February of 2001. Just one of many… shame on you. Rest in peace Stephanie.
Shiloh Treatment Center has a 2.1 star rating with 27 reviews.
