Bug found on husband in bed at midnight the 1st night. Did not stay the next 6 days there. We went to breakfast at Bradys and came back to find our rooms keys would not work (maid let us in). General Manager, Curt, would not answer phone or give any checkout papers. We, luckily, had booked through Alaska Vacations who made sure we were not overcharged, as thry tried to charge our cc $665., which we paid all through ALASKA VACATIONS, who contacted SHILO to reverse immediately. The room was outdated and the sheets and pillows were stained and gross. They were massively under staffed and for the amount I paid, it was NOT worth it! The room a/c didn’t work properly and they gave me a small oscillating fan to compensate. The beds were soft and old. I would never come back to that place, and had an awful experience there.

Literally the only thing I can complain about is it's a little dated. While older, its super clean, the facilities are in good condition, the front desk was super friendly. The hot tub and pool facilities are top notch , and the rooms are clean and enormous. Anyone who has back issues , the beds are nice and firm. I will try to book these rooms for me and my guys in the future.

“Safety is not fair.” That’s what the manager, Kirk Hansen, actually told me before dismissing my concerns and saying I didn’t deserve my experience. Let that sink in. This hotel is not safe. At 2:47 a.m., I was confronted by a random stranger who was not a guest, not an employee — just someone wandering the property unchecked. Imagine being woken up in the middle of the night by someone who should never have been there in the first place. The response from management? Zero concern. No apology. No accountability.
