Bed was hard as a rock. Gave her our rewards number to enter. She could not even figure how to put it in. Don't bother to show up before 4pm or they will tell you to come back after 4pm. They will also want a $50 deposit witch they do not tell you when you make a reservation. Tried to tell the lady at the desk that nothing was said about a deposit, she just said to us 'read the fine print'. I check and nothing is ever said about it. Will never stay at a shilo inn again!
Pam the manager was great, her staff does a lot of standing around, smoking out back, smart phoning, not a lot of working. If she could somehow get them motivated to always stay busy the cleanliness and quality of the place would go up greatly. The place needs a capable handyman full time to catch up with the laundry list of items needing paint, fixing, and a whole lot of elbow grease. Don't get your hopes up by looking at the Internet photos, they don't do it justice how bad it is.
I have never been so well taken care of (family and friends included) as I was by BRIAN! This sweet man put up with all of my most obnoxious requests to the point that I genuinely wanted to know what I could do for him. I have never experienced service ANY WHERE like the service, kindness, and hospitality he extended to me. I hated to leave because I couldn't take him with me!
This has to be one of the best values for lodging in the metro area. We had a large room with king bed and patio door as well as the inside corridor entry. Exceptionally clean and quiet, the stay included a full breakfast prepared to order. If you qualify, take advantage of their Veteran rates. Even if that's not the case, the place is a bargain for all it offers. Don't believe me? Just ask my dogs. They too were truly impressed.
The hotel is new and has fine furnishings in the rooms, very clean and inviting. An upscale hotel.. A great place to pamper yourself. The place is beautiful and the staff is more than friendly. You will be spending your money wisely by staying at the Shilo. Will stay there over and over again. Shilo has a piano bar and restaurant so you never have to leave the hotel. A great getaway!
Most of those familiar with Killeen know it lacks nice hotels and even moreso, lacks decent dining. When people consider the "Lobster" a "fancy" restaurant, you know a town is hurting. Stayed at the Shilo for Valentines day with my wife and had a wonderful time. The entire hotel is great. For a new hotel in the area with a so called upper-end restaurant, it was the worst service we have encountered yet. We had dinner with two other couples, so there were six of us and only two other tables with customers. The two other couples we were there with received their water promptly, and my husband and I had to ask AGAIN for water about five minutes later the waitress presented our water.
