We were sitting in the beach today 6/28/21 and proceeded to complain to security as well as other beach guests about a couple having sex in the water while children are present. Security did nothing about it and told us that they were the newlyweds who had gotten married yesterday 6/27/21. I don't care if they were the President of the hotel and his wife. After discussing this with the staff, this couple was approached by several guests and staff that people were complaining about them kissing aggressively. I made a reservation at the Shephard's beach resort hotel in Clearwater. I have a dog she is a puppy and emotional support. So I called the hotel to make sure she was welcome and they said yes. They said she could access all areas of the hotel and we stayed on the hotel's beach. She had the collar on and I have all the documents that prove she has vaccines and emotional support. Then she had fun on the beach swimming and playing with the few guests who were there and even with the children. But she is a dog and she obviously... read more

Ms. ******* we are sorry about any confusion there was during your stay. We do allow emotional support and service dogs on the property. We strictly follow the ADA guidelines when it comes to service animals. We do not let the service animals run around or bark while in public areas. I hope you understand the service animal is allowed on the property to only service you directly and has to be at your side at all times. We hope you found other aspects of the resort to be acceptable for you.

We found DRUGS in our drink at the bar. An actual PILL pack at the bottom of the cup. When we informed management, they told us we were overreacting due to "you all aren't showing any symptoms of being drugged you're fine" we told them yes we were fine but what if it had been something bad, their staff and bartenders needed to be informed to be on the look out for suspicious activity. Once notified about the item in the drink our F&B Manager immediately went over to the table and took this claim very seriously. She apologized and tried verbally to figure out how this could have happened as she was getting Ms. ******** side of the story. This is a terrible hotel and I don't understand why BBB is giving them an A rating. I stayed here for spring break and I repeatedly complained about roaches and nearly falling off a broken toilet seat. Their front desk clerk argued with me calling me a liar and approached me from behind the desk in a threatening manner. They say they refunded me $100 for my troubles but it is a lie, they refunded me $100 because they had hidden fees that were not a part of my original reservation receipt. Resort Comments: BBB, I am in receipt of this complaint along with the same complaint to the Health Department. Please, close this account as every issue was addressed immediately contrary to what has been stated in this review. The Health Department came to the property to inspected the room and found no problems. There was no infestation as stated. The toilet seat was tighten quickly. Sadly, this is the first negative review I have written. My husband and I visited Clearwater Beach for a softball tournament. We had a great hotel with a beach front view, but wanted to stay somewhere that was a bit more lively. We booked Shephards at 11 am the morning of arrival. We booked a room with 2 queen beds and a Gulf view ( why would we leave an amazing hotel with a Gulf view for a city view?) i checked in at 8:10pm and i never went to my room upon check in. i then got up to my room about 10:30-11:00pm to find that my shower was full of hair. as if they did not clean the shower. i then cleaned out the shower to then be waken up about 12:30-1:00am from druken guest in the hotel. they were asked to go to their rooms and i was then woken up again. i then went downstairs about 8:00am after getting about 2 1/2 hrs of sleep to the front deak to advise them of the situation. and the first thing that came out the the agen... read more

I had never heard of this resort and was immediately amazed by the great service and the amount and quality of the entertainment that was provided along with very clean rooms. The drinks and food available was a little price but was to be expected based on the overall amenities being provided so no big deal. My issues lie with the fact we had to deal with obnoxious guests with no respect for other sleeping guests for close to 2 hours starting at 2 am on a Sunday. I have to first say the resort is very clean and nice. But staff are not. My friends and I were treated as if we were children and harrased since the moment we arrived. There were several things we were not aware of at the time of check-In, that we should have been notified of. The security guards think they are gods, they were constantly asking us questions even though we had proper wristbands and valid drivers license, and they were intentionally embarrassing guest by following them around or stopping them and asking more ... read more

My friends went last weekend and because they complain about their safety on the beach the hotel management called the police and ask them to leave and refused to refund their money and when someone says something about the situation cops asked them to leave as well. Very unprofessional and simply high way rubbery Not recommended family with kids

First, od all we are sorry this situation occurred in the first place.The guest came screaming in the lobby that her kid got ran over by a jet ski- of course this caused everyone to panic thinking that a child was injured.
