I went here because I had a heart murmor and they thought I could pass it on to my child. Every visit I was in the waiting room forever. I scheduled one visit after lunch on a Friday, I was there up until the office was closing. They rushed me through and even the nurse was like I gotta get out of here to go to a concert. Hoping for a better appt this week. Every appt I've had so far their has been an issue with my blood pressure. Dr. Strassberg makes me incredibly uncomfortable and stress me out constantly about our baby's weight. By all of my research and my normal OB my baby is completely fine. I did switch Dr.'s at maternal fetal health hoping to have a better experience. Would not recommend!
Before every appointment I felt like I could vomit because I was so nervous! Made my husband and I think our baby always had a possible problem. In the end everything was fine and she is healthy! All that worrying for nothing!
I have never had such a bad experience with a doctor’s office as I have with Shenandoah Valley Maternal Fetal Medicine. 😡 First, I go in for my first trimester screening which is an ultrasound that requires a full bladder. The technologist does my scan and asks me not to use the restroom in case the doctor needs more views. So I sit there FOR AN HOUR AND TEN MINUTES with a full freaking bladder, only for the doctor not to need to see anything else. Dr.Mccoy was absolutely amazing! I looked forward to every visit with her! The wait time is expected! She spent enough time with me to answer every question I had and more! I would expect her to do the same with everyone else! Hence why the appointments are longer! If you don’t like straightforward go somewhere else! If you want the truth- see Dr.Mccoy!
As a health care professional myself I am very disappointed in how this office runs. Multiple times I have had to wait over an hour for my appointment and then have left feeling like it was a waste of time. I didn't learn anything I didn't already know. you can see staff just standing around talking. If you are high risk I highly recommend going to UVA or Inova. Don't waste your time with this office.
