RecommendedService was great! Food amazing!
I was disappointed in the food and service. I'm hoping it was an off night for them, the she crab soup was to lumpy and the seafood spectacular was flavorless. Worst tasting crabcakes and the flounder had no flavor. Our waitress was never around but then why bother when you get 18% tip regardless.
good food and drinks. we sat at the bar and the bartender was nice and timely.
We made reservations and once seated ordered our food. We waited and waited for food. When the dinner finally arrived it was all stone cold but what really did it was the manager’s attitude. Angie “the manager’ was so rude about the food being cold, like it was our fault. I don’t ever leave reviews but Angie was so rude that I went back in the restaurant to get her name. We returned our dinner and left without eating! Good luck with Staying in business when there are so many great places to eat in Charleston!
First off, we had reservations and were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly. However, the menu's had mildew on them and the fabric napkins did not look clean. The food was pretty good but after seeing the lack of cleanliness on things that were out in the open made me hesitant to really enjoy it bc of what may have been in the unseen kitchen!
Love this place. I have eaten here for over 25 years. My fav in CHARLESTON area.
Our bartender/server was awesome. Very competent and quick too. He was definitely Johnny on the spot. I highly recommend the oysters on the half shell while sitting on the back porch and enjoying the beautiful view.
We came to Charleston to have a weekend get away. We were looking online and saw that Shem Creek Bar and Grill was one of the best places around to eat. Let me save you the time and just let you know this place is terrible. First, we were there for over two hours. We arrived at 7 and did not leave until 9:15. Very dissappointed. When we first arrived the hostess was not very friendly. Once seated my Aunt ordered an ice water. The water tasted very toxic. After one sip she became sick to her stomach. The food was ok. It didnt taste like fresh seafood and the portions were very slim!! A family friend had a 2 black hairs on his plate and was told it came from the corn but he didnt have corn on his plate and corn is not black!!! We will not be attending this place again!!
