Shell's Bar-B-Q is yummy! Shells BBQ is yummy. They have a great staff and lots of variety. My kids like to go there for their slushy drinks and I love the prices. They are also now all non smoking and I really like that.
Very nice people, Very basic burgers and hotdog dinner location. Local eatery for St Stephens High School. If you go it will be for the local flavor like "Happy Days" TV show. Very nice people,
Fantastic old diner building remodeled, period pieces throughout The decor and food here are meant to evoke a 50's or 60's style diner, from the building right down to the menus. Prices are reasonable, and the quality is good (try the finger corn dogs!). There aren't more than one or two places in the Hickory metro area that aren't chain restaraunts that have this feel, and Shell's is the best for when you want a diner-type feel. Their BBQ is good, some say, though I don't care for BBQ in general myself.

Sweet tea is a must! This is a great local place that has all of the standard diner foods. The flounder sandwich is GIANT and has to be eaten with a fork, fries and onion rings are great and of course the sweet tea is a must!
Best! Ya'll have the BEST chicken tender salad ever!
