I began my training in womens care in the Navy in 1985. I have served on a ship, worked as an Emergency Room physician, and a general surgeon while on board ship. Since that time many years ago, I have treated many many women for all types of medical issues, both acute and chronic. I have come to appreciate womens health issues. My experience ,candor, and listening will hopefully provide to you the care you seek.

I received a $202 bill from Dr. Susman Shelly B. for a supposedly“hospital discharge (30 minutes)” but I never saw her, never spoke to her, and have no idea who she is. I had a different doctor during my stay, and when I was discharged, no doctor came to see me at all. I was actually apprehensive about leaving, and they ended up giving the OK to the nurse to discharge me instead. After receiving this bill, I contacted the hospital, and they told me there’s no bill under my name and that my case is closed, which makes this ch... read more
Dr. Sussman wanted to put me on Tamoxifen as a breast cancer preventative in my early 40s with no breast cancer history or any signs of breast cancer. I walked out.
Good Luck with Dr. Sussman. I scheduled my appt over 1 year ago for the first week in February and have now been rescheduled twice. When I asked to get bloodwork in advance of the appt, the receptionist advised that she can leave a message for Dr. Sussman, but she might not get it. I don't understand how a Physician, who is supposed to be concerned with women's care, doesn't have the time to set up a blood test. I will find another doctor. Very disappointing.
Great
My gyno of the last 5 years, who I loved, retired and the Doctor she referred me to was just awful, cold and uncaring. I researched a few Doctors that take my Blue Shield insurance and finally settled on Dr. Susman. From the moment I met her I knew I had made the right decision. She really listened to me and was so understanding, warm and gentle. I am so happy I found Dr. Susman and have referred several of my friends to her as well.
