Three words about Shell and Bones. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!
I went here based on a friend's recommendation last year and was impressed with everything... the food, location, view, ambience, and service. I went back last night, and although they had a very different menu than on my first visit, I was even more impressed with the selection. All four members of my party RAVED about their dishes... from the octopus salad appetizer and the scallops, to the meatloaf and chicken... it was all cooked to perfection. And do NOT skip dessert. Trust me. Enjoy!!

Visiting from Central Massachusetts last night to celebrate my birthday with my family. This was our first time at Shell & Bones and we had a wonderful experience with our server Molly. She was knowledgeable about the menu, pleasant and attentive to our needs. Both steak and seafood dishes were excellent. This was the best dining experience I've had in the New Haven area probably ever. Favorite dessert was the Tres Leches, so good! We are still talking about it. Outstanding food, location and service. The view is wonderful and the place had a buzz even in the Winter on a Sunday. We forgot to inform the management when we made our reservations that we had a time constraint, (seeing Lewis Black at the Shubert) but when were seated and told our waitress, they were so accommodating and got us out on time without sacrificing the experience. We will definitely be back!
