I had a procedure done and the specimens were sent to Cleveland Regional laboratory. The hospital charged over $1000 to process the specimen, but they do accept my insurance, which is Cigna. Then Shelby Pathology charged to read the slides. Shelby Pathology does not participate with Cigna and will not accept the allowable. I did not have a choice where the biopsies were sent or who read the slides.
