The sprawling 1400 acres (570 hectares) of the Shelburne Farms in Vermont is a non-profit farm that encourages environmental, economical and cultural sustainability through the practice of rural land use. We really enjoyed the views at here and got exercise walking the trails. Our only complaint is that the trails are NOT well-marked, even the "marked ones." Stay on the trails by the roads and by the farm house and you will be fine. Make sure you arrive early and bring your camera!

We stayed in the Lilac Room and enjoyed the Library, Game Room, Reception area outside the dining room - plus we loved the Stone Barns and Stables
It is high on the list of our most favorite places of all time in the entire world!
