My oncologist, Dr. Elder, left this group in September. At our last visit in Sept, she made sure that my prescription for Tamoxifen was refillable for 6 months. I would need that time to find another oncologist, as I refused to continue with the oncologists at SM. Now, I find that the final 3 months of my prescription was refused since Dr. Elder is not there anymore. Just had my last round of chemo a couple of weeks ago to address my stage 4 prostate cancer and had the honor of being the first patient to ring the bell in their beautiful new facility. I know there are no guarantees when it comes to cancer, but I wouldn't entrust anyone else other than Advent Health and my Oncologist Jacob Smeltzer and his incredible team with my care.
This place is HORRIBLE!! I was diagnosed stage 2B I told Dr Elder I was having pain. She blew me off and made me think I was crazy before my last chemo infusion. Six weeks later I did an mri for the surgeon and was told I progressed to stage 4 metastatic!! Dr Elder ruined my life!! If you want to live go to KU!! This place will grow your cancer not shrink it!!
