We are buying a house and it has been one nightmare after another. We have been here 2 years and the electric has issues the roof leaks the AC just stopped working. House is literally 2 years old. Not worth the money.
Beware of method to manage the HOA in your neighborhood. The developer maintains control of the HOA , announced a fee of $525 annual fee. No records maintained of expenses, or records of HOA costs. The developer will not meet with, discuss or disclose any information, without notice. New building is DR Horton; who has no interest in community. Developer Shaw still owns the property and controls the HOA.
Definitely cuts corners. I should not have to do repairs to a brand new house. And they use cheap paint
I have a friend who recently experienced a mental health crisis. In October 2024 my friend paid $11,000+ earnest money on a new build in Broken Arrow, Ok area. Approximately 3 days after, they were admitted to a mental health facility for 30 days. Relatives were given guardianship and reached out to Shaw Homes to explain the situation, asking that under the circumstances the money be given back. I highly recommend you NOT choose this company to do business with. Choose anyone OTHER than Shaw Homes. Here's why: A friend put down a sizeable amount of money (escrow) when she decided to purchase a house from Shaw last fall. Shortly thereafter, she had a medical emergency, and has been hospitalized with severe illness since. She's begged Shaw to return her money...and they refuse to do so. It's a LOT of money, and she can't afford to lose it. Her medical bills are probably going to cause her to have to file bankruptcy...... read more
