So maybe she’s grown a lot and blossomed when we all had to switch to teleheath sessions, but I’ve had nothing but good experiences with her. Always on time. Always sends my script to my pharmacy before the session ends. I have a challenging case with several physical health issues, and she’s planned my meds around them, whereas the psych before just assumed that my fatigue was due to depression and prescribed me a med that increased my risk factor of seizures. I cannot comment on how her in person sessions are but this is m... read more
Sharon Packer is hands down the worst psychiatrist I have ever seen. The first time I saw her and explained the mental state I was struggling with, she automatically diagnosed me with Bipolar Disorder. Without even thinking twice she tried to prescribe me antipsychotics during our FIRST ever visit. She does not listen to her patients and dismissed/invalidated my experience. I told her I was having panic attacks due to a traumatic event and she told me to use her WORRY SHEET as I was describing to her how I couldn't breathe a... read more
I am normally understanding of wait times at doctors' offices, but she tells you to arrive early then sees you later than your appointment time. She then rushes you because you've run out of time which is her fault for seeing you late. She is very disorganized and doesn't care about her patients. She doesn't have a receptionist, probably because she wants to cut overhead costs. I requested a document from her but she lost it and told me to schedule another appointment so I could get it from her.
I'm pretty sure harshly saying "How am I supposed to understand you when you're crying like that?" is not an appropriate way to for a psychiatrist to speak to a patient dealing with mental health issues. Good thing I wasn't too close to the edge, because she would've pushed me right over.
Yeaaaa looks like most other have had a similar experience. One and only visit for me. Like everyone else said the first impression is weird, the office looks like a hoarders home. Either way that didnt bother me much, however even submitting a ton of paper work ahead of time and even printing it out for her, she seemed to have to "register" me during my appointment which seemed to take a while. The rest of the appointment was very rushed, she repeated multiple times thats most of her appts are
When booking my 1st appointment, Dr Packer called, emailed, & texted me repeatedly to find & confirm a time. She didn't have any handle on how to manage her email/phone. On my 2nd visit, she was on the phone screaming while I waited to see her. Upon entering, she was very abrupt and rude and acted annoyed. She asked the reason for my appointment over & over when it had been her that insisted we meet again so soon for an update. She spent 75% of our time booking a follow-up & taking my money
Just terrible. Avoid at all costs. Check out her yelp reviews. Never seen anyone so hated.
