I had my first appointment with her and she was amazing. She listened to my concerns and took them seriously and I got everything I needed done within two appointments. Absolutely amazing
Dr McCarthy of all the physicians I have seen always listens. -and she is very good with discussing options.

Dr. McCarthy is an amazing PCP. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, listens to and responds to my concerns appropriately.
As a person, she seems nice; as a doctor, not thrilling. Having just moved here, my first visit, I needed a referal for a cardiologist-that was a 15 minute discussion before she would write the referal. Next visit was for major allergy problems that were not getting better; her recommendation was to try a different over the counter perscription & return in 2 weeks-I don't need to pay for an office visit to get advice for OTC, the pharmacists will help with that. Very disappointing.
I'm looking for a great Dr around Col Springs for my fiance. I've been through it all when it comes to Drs & hospitals. The comment left by a former patient convinced me to make an appointment. First off, you can't get a colonoscopy without a visit/referral from a fam physician. Second, your doctor sucks if all they do is dish out pills for you for a year. They must not care about you or finding the route issues. She sounds like a good doc to me... But I'll let you know after the visit.
Dr. McCarthy will try to get additional unnecessaryappointments. She refused to give me a referral for a colonoscopy unless I booked an annual physical with her which I did not need. A few months later, she refused to renew a medicine that I had been on for 2 years with no problems unless I made yet another appointment to come see her three to six months after my last one. What a surprise when I changed Drs and immediately got a one year prescription.
