I was referred to Dr.Kim by my oncology surgeon for desired breast reconstruction related to breast cancer surgery. At my initial appointment, Dr. Kim was pleasant and thoroughly explained the different methods for reconstruction based on the type of surgery I would be having. His explanation was very clear and he answered all my questions. I was required to have breast reduction surgery as part of treatment for breast cancer. I didn't want to do it, but the oncologist said it would increase my chances of effective radiation treatment. Dr. Shane C. Kim came highly recommended. But when I fully recovered from surgery, I saw that he had completely changed the natural shape of my breasts by significantly reducing projection and widening the sides. I highly recommend Dr Kim.They very patiently answered all of my concerns and questions. Carefully explaining all of my options. From day one, I new I was in the right place. Under their capable hands I received the best care. There were a few times when I needed assistance beyond my scheduled appointments. Every time I reached out, my concerns were promptly addressed, including over weekends. My experience with this doctor was life-destroying, he performed a breast reconstruction on me and it came out aesthetically horrible. I was already feeling like my self-esteem was super low from going through breast cancer, and he ended up making me more depressed with his terrible job. The least I expected from him was to be able to fix what I didn't see well done, when I spoke to him that he wasn't satisfied with the result, he turned his back on me.

I lost part of my index finger in a workshop accident and was referred to Dr. Kim by the ER doctor at Providence St.Vincents. Even though this doctor was out of network with my insurance I was hoping for a discussion about other options besides just having the wound closed and dealing with a shortened finger the rest of my life.
