I could have enjoyed my evening in Seattle area – I went to this place just based on the name. The ambience was good and we were seated immediately. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Tikka with the hopes that we are goign to enjoy the authentic Indian and Pakistani (as they advertised) flavors. "Tikka"(s) are generally very flavorful and spicy, however what we got was very bland. The Lamb tikka was a disaster. It was half cooked and even the cooked part was extremely tough. When I complained about the "lamb Tikka", I ... read more
unimpressed – I absolutely love Indian food. My fiance and I have gone to many authentic Indian restaurants before. So when we decided to try out this restaurant we had our hopes high. First of all there is not much to select from the menu , we ordered mango lassi and they bring us out two tiny cups when other restaurants would give you a good size cup the lassi also wasn?t all that good either. We then ordered paneer tikka masala and Chicken Saag we wanted Spanish Naan but they only had three types which sux so we went with... read more
Great Staff .. Great Food – I love this restaurant and the neighborhood. Excellent food and you will be treated right by the staff. If you do get a chance to talk with Max you will be delighted.
fantastic flavors – The staff is prompt and friendly, the food unusual - you can find it with and without 'bite' - this is a great introduction for those afraid of Indian food and spices. And you'll keep coming back for more! We've gone back for 10 years, and the clients I take there for the lunch buffet have raved about the flavors.
aggressively okay – we were seated promptly and service was excellent. tasted appetizers of chili shrimp and spicy eggplant. shrimp dish was unimpressive; it was identical to those i have had at chinese restaurants. spicy eggplant was original and delicious. tasted, saag paneer, lamb special and chicken kabuli for dinner. saag paneer was good except for over simmered spinach. chicken was unmemorable, but lamb was tender and well spiced. it completely pained me to pay for papadams and the chutney sampler, which are usually se... read more
This popular Kirkland Indian spot draws lunchtime crowds with its generous buffet. – The Scene Lines form for an exceptional, good-value lunch buffet around noon. The menu shows intriguing culinary influences from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kenya. The interior is decorated with Asian art and hanging fabrics based on actual shamiana--the brightly patterned temporary tents used at fairs and bazaars. The Food The lunch buffet offers meat entrees, as well as vegetarian fare and dairy-free preparations. Selections change daily, enc... read more
Excellent for Lunch – The lunch buffet at Shamiana is excellent. From the multiple meat and veggie curry dishes to the pulao yellow rice, it is truly a taste treat. My personal favorite, head & shoulders above the rest, is their "Major Grey Curry" with is a sweet yellow curried chicken with carmelized onions in a cream sauce. To die for! Don't forget to get some Garlic Nan (enough for 2) with your lunch buffet.
Addicting food!! – Great value... especially if you work for MS... the discount card gets you one free entree! The "Major Grey's" curry is sooooooooooo good! I just went back for my second visit this week. I'm sure the other food is good too, but why risk it ... go for the Major Grey's!
Find an indian chef! – Appetizer: vegetable cutlets (typical veg Samosa filings) wrapped in a wonton'ish skin and fried, pricey... not crispy as tastey as samosa's. Entree: A vegatarian dish called Sag Alu, The Sag tasted slightly soured and usually suports the potatoes which it couldn't. Bread: The Nan was tandoor style bread with a coating of butter and garlic brushed on top, I have had much better. Chai Tea: Was served/prepared seperate from milk, usually it is brewed in milk to help absorb the tea masala, when milk was a... read more
