procedure was great, except for being awake when entering the operating room. I also felt awake hearing the drill. everyone was terrific and super organized in the before and after care. I really appreciate everyone so much!

I was there for a month and then was back several times for a few weeks each time. The other patients were always very nice to me...but the staff? Not so much. There were a few nice nurses and psychiatrists but most of them were rude. Also the people who worked with the patients most, the phyciatric aides...were horrible. They would ignore me while i was panicing and crying right in front of them. The day always comes we we, or a loved one, has to be taken to the emergency room. A couple of days ago, I had to take my elderly mother to one of them after she fell and hit her head--on the forehead--in the same spot she fell and hit it two other times in the past 3 months. Beware of this Hospital – Last year I lost my 16 year old daughter and have been having a hard time dealing with it. I turned to this hospital looking for a psychiatrist to get some help and maybe get on the right anti depressants. Well I went in for an evaluation before going to work and met with a Dr Lopez. A place you would never want to be – One step away from jail this is for juveniles. This is a adolescent psychward and a form of an insane asylum. This place smells. This place it dirty and needs the department of sanitation on their buts. I visted a friend here at visiting hours, I also work for psychology. This is a very poor facility all fenced up so noone can break windows glass and escappe. You sleep in dorms here. Some people whoa re 18 can sign themselves in and out voluntayr. Glen Cove Hospital has a barbarian shrink named James Thompson screening all ER patients for their Medicaid-eligibility and whether they are alone or with someone that is a recent immigrant unfamiliar with our laws.
