Same food, new prices This restaurant has always been a mediocre Indian restaurant; however, about two years ago they moved to a new, bigger location and raised their prices accordingly. I have had the tandoori chicken as well as the naan and also the butter chicken. They pretty much have all the typical dishes, nothing more -- nothing less. I think for the money there are better Indian restaurants in the University District.
Lovely but expensive Convenient location, friendly staff, and excellent food. A little expensive for lunch on the Ave., but nice if you need a fancy place.
Great Dining Experience This restaurant is located conveniently on University Way, with a nice atmosphere and decent prices. The service is good and the food is good as well. I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking for Indian cuisine in the University District.
Signature dish disappoints – I didn't get the delicious spice separation of flavors on their signature dish. Nice atmosphere. Nice staff...just mediocre dish....Next time I'l try another

Best Indian food in the NW – The food here is consistently good and the portions are large enough to be had for 2 meals. Their service, too, doesn't dissapoint. Their prices are pocket-friendly and the ambience is comparable only to that of an upscale restaurant. Excellent for a date, family outing, or group gathering. Keep up the good work!
Great Indian food at affordable prices – I have been going to Indian style restaurants for years with my family. I stumbled upon Shalimar about a year ago through one of my co-workers and we have made it our choice of lunch spots ever since.
