DO NOT GO HERE. I'm new to Texas & searched for a black female doctor because I assumed she would understand my issues with the healthcare system & provide more care. Dr. Hawkins is not personable, she'll ask the same questions, & you have to PROBE her to give you anymore information. I actually told her "You must understand the PCOS issue as a black woman" & she looked up as if she was offended by that statement. She just sent me to get my ovaries checked for cysts & her office calls to tell me "We cant tell if you have the... read more
Dr. Hawkins always takes time to connect with me on each visit. She listens and asks probing questions. She carefully reviews my medical history and ensures I am on track with my medications and yearly check-up. If you are looking for a primary care physician who is compassionate and provides excellent diagnosis, referrals and care, I recommend Dr. Shalaun Hawkins!!!
