Saw this dr for a lupus diagnosis today. For reference I have every symptom of lupus, hair loss, malar rash, oral ulcers, positive ana, extreme fatigue, joint pain/inflammation, fever, sun sensitivity, etc. According to my research regarding this disease, typically in order to diagnose lupus, a positive ana test accompanied with 4 or more other lupus symptoms would be equivalent for diagnosis criteria. After I explained my symptoms, He literally told me “so why are you here? What do you want from me? You already saw *another rheum* and they gave you their answer. There is nothing else I can do for you”….. Such a waste of time and effort. And then told me there is no treatment for me other than narcotics. People like him shouldn’t even be allowed to practice.
I have been seeing Dr.Shakir for 10 years now. He has always been kind, caring and answered any questions or concerns I had regarding my treatment options or medications. The wait in his office is never too long and his office staff has always been courteous. Medication refills and pr-authorization for my medications have always been handled in a timely manner. I recommend Dr.Shakir if you are in Chandler area in search of a Rheumatologist.
