10 hours in the ER waiting with a suspected stroke is completely unacceptable. I came in with a severe headache that has now lasted over 35 hours one of the worst headaches of my life along with slurred speech and chest pain. Even after explaining these symptoms multiple times, I kept being told there was “3 more person ahead of me then finally got to one ahead of you” whilst 6 had gone in. Lady on reception was really rude!
Doctor's and nurses told us they don't care that the needed home care for the patient that requires 24 hour care, takes time to get put into place, and want to discharge the dementia patient anyways without the care in place. Almost every doctor and nurse we have dealt with there have no compassion for the patent, and only care about getting them out of the unit. No care for the safety and well being for the patent once they are discharged. They have no business in the health care field.
