I’m a retired cardiac surgeon, so I am very particular in the physicians I select to render care. Prior to a consultation with Dr. Cooper, I’ve been to two other large orthopedic practices in Tampa, both of which I was not impressed with either the surgeons or mid levels. Visits were rushed. I am a retired cardiac surgeon and my wife a retired mid level practitioner so we tend to be quite selective when it comes to physicians for our care. When I needed a knee replacement, we consulted orthopedic surgeons at two well known, large practices in Tampa. Neither one of us were impressed. Dr. Cooper was great. The office staff not so much. I could not put weight on my right leg nor could I lift it. The 14547 Bruce B Downs office did NOT have wheelchairs with foot pedals. There was one foot holder thrown on the floor. We could not figure out how it went on. I made a sling from a bandana, that I had in the car, thankfully, so I could lift my leg while my husband pushed me. No visit Office canceled new patient appointment 1 1/2 hour prior to appointment time.
Dr. Cooper was my Mom's doctor for her knee replacement. Dr. Cooper was amazing from the initial visit, surgery, and the follow up. He was very transparent and offered the best knee replacement procedure that allowed for a quick recovery. My mom pushed off knee replacement for years due to fear, but after her surgery with Dr. Cooper she regrets not having it done sooner. Thank you to Dr. Cooper and the staff.

Dr. Cooper is amazing. I had a right total knee replacement with a quick and uneventful recovery. I found him to be kind, caring, and approachable. He sees his patients every visit and gives you time to address any questions or concerns you may have. The office staff is friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr. Cooper without any reservation.
Dr. Cooper did my hip replacement in Jan. 2021. I have not had ANY pain since the day of surgery. Prior to surgery I was in extreme pain and had difficulty walking. If you're looking for a great surgeon to do your hip replacement....call Dr. Cooper.
