When I bought a new home, I changed propane suppliers at the suggestion of the previous owner who said that Amerigas Propane was "difficult" to deal with. After the new company set the old tank aside, I called Amerigas and they said they would pick up the old tank "within 30 days". At the end of the 30 days, I called back and was told the "next available day" for pick up was another 3 weeks away. This tank is sitting in my ONLY guest parking space. The woman on the phone was quite rude in stating that I was not a priority si... read more

Ameri Gas - Billings Montana-Delivery to Colstrip Montana I have been their customer for 10 years - finally had enough!!! Highest price in the State. Every time I called four different people gave me 4 completely different answers! It was -30 degrees and I got a delivery date but had to wait 2 weeks cuz they were busy. 6 space heaters to keep my pipes from freezing. Hire temp drivers in theses situations, train your operators. When I closed account, Ameri Gas did not come and pick up their disconnected, and ready to go tank ... read more

Terrible company to deal with. we changed companies and now Amerigas wants 104.95 to pick up their tank. I told them not to bother and they said if they didn't pick it up we would be charged a monthly rental fee. we have been using them for eight yeas and never aid a rental fee.

Horrible experience with this company trying to get them to pick up an empty 100 gal. propane tank. The things been sitting in my driveway for 6 months now since I cancelled service because their pricing was not competitive. I've called 7 times and all I get is the runaround. Two dates they set for pickup and I'm still looking at the thing. Give your local propane supplier your business, not these guys.

Worst mistake ever and I should have known from the start, when I was called by the company to schedule a date to come check a leak. Took off the day and when no one showed up I called and was told ... sorry, we meant to call another Mr. Brown. When I protested a rude man got on the phone and said ... we'll just come pick the tank up. Since I use propane for hot water, that wasn't an option for me so I just took another day off from work so they could fix their leak. I finally had enough of the great customer service and cal... read more

Run, don’t walk away from Amerigas, Oxnard. We are switching companies because after being loyal customers for 14 years, the new management of Amerigas is completely the worst experience ever. We have been waiting for three days now for 100 gallons of gas to be dispensed into our tank. We are in the 0% of gas left in our tank, heading into Mother’s Day weekend, with guests arriving tomorrow. The offices promised we would have the gas Thursday May 10th, then promised to have the gas Friday, May 11th at 9:00am. It is is Saturd... read more

I am very disappointed with Amerigas. When my landlord found a better deal with a different propane company, nearly $3 less per gallon, Amerigas charged me $64.99 to pick up the tanks. The tanks were there when I moved in. And I had lived there for nearly 3 years by the time we made the change. Then they reimbursed me $0.30 less a gallon for the propane that I paid for but did not use. They were charging nearly $1.30 more per gallon then the state average at the time. When we tried to address it with them they made promises ... read more

I had moved into Hemlock Farms over a year ago and was told my propane (Ameri Gas) would be $1.76 a gallon. I was running low on propane come November of last year and the truck pulled in pumped my propane with two cars sitting in the driveway not knocking on the door and took off leaving the receipt sitting on my doorstep. I read the the ticket and with out warning me jacked my price up to $2.67 a gallon. I was left holding a $980 bill. I then removed them from my services and have 40% left in the tank when I was in formed ... read more

We moved to Washington never having used propane or knowing anything about it. We falsely assumed that all companies charge relatively the same amount, similar to gasoline prices at gas stations. Over the course of the last 2 1/2 years, Amerigas has raised our per-gallon price every single month and charged many fees adding over $100 to our bill each month. We have since learned that the nearly $6 per gallon they are charging us is 3 x what other companies in the area charge and that none of the fees are real, required, or p... read more

Business response:

As with any customer, we have pricing options from GPP to Pre-Buy to help lower costs, but we were not contacted by Ms. Camery-Hoggart until she cancelled service. A review of her account shows she was charged our standard Hazmat and Fuel Recovery fees, totaling $16.60 at the time of her deliveries. Our fees are clearly outlined in our Terms and Conditions.
