We were lucky to find Sequoia Senior Care for my mother. The house has 4 rooms upstairs and 4 rooms downstairs for residents. It's situated in a truly residential neighborhood, near single family homes, an elementary school and swim club (not that the residents need such things). The furnishings inside the house are homey, so the overall interior and exterior of the place feel WAY less institutional than other assisted care facilities we looked at. I would never recommend Sequoia Senior Care in Columbia, MD to anyone looking for a safe and caring environment for their loved one. My grandma’s experience there was heartbreaking, and the level of neglect she endured is inexcusable. The living conditions are absolutely unacceptable—bugs in her room, common areas that are filthy, and a clear lack of maintenance that makes the entire place feel unlivable.
