While the surgeon Dr Atkins who performed my wife’s surgery was excellent as expected, his staff were absolutely dreadful including the PA’s who spoke on his behalf. It was not possible to get anyone on the phone if you called the office, including the number for “critical care team”. That was laughable since they don’t treat anything critical. It’s impossible to talk to a live person if you’re an existing patient and they rarely call you back when you leave them a message. But you’ll be able to talk to a live person if you’re a new patient and need to make an appointment. This is not fair at all.
I literally just witness these people call my wife to cancel not reschedule but cancel her appointment she has been waiting six months for. It is so upsetting as a spouse that has seen their loved one go to the ER twice for something that no one but these doctors can help with only to wait patiently while holding your breathe hoping nothing happens to her as we wait on these people. Have had years long waits for appointments only to have them need to be rescheduled (three times) due to provider being out of the office.
Dr. Singh with Sentara Neurologist saved me life! However, it has been virtually impossible to make an appointment with him lately since he moved to another practice. My calls are not returned when I leave messages to set up an appointment. No one answers the phone. It is so disappointing because he is a stellar neurosurgeon.
