Those who do not eat red meat or chicken can happily dine here with their meat eating friends - the hand-cut fries are great (try them with a BBQ dipping sauce) and try the mac n cheese and cornbread. The baked beans and green beans are loaded with pork or bacon, meat eaters love them :)
Biggest problem is place is FILTHY. Floors haven't been mopped what looked like weeks. Bathroom a mess, health inspector would shut it down.
Food is good, if you get what you order. Don't expect the order to be correct every time. I go usually 5 times a month and I feel lucky if it's correct twice. They consistently forget the corn muffin, bbq sauce and napkins for to go orders. You have to ask for plastic ware for to go orders, then ASK again cause they didn't give them to you. If you want green beans good luck cause your probaably gonna get collard greens. After 5 years of that, I've given up. Had the lunch special. Pulled pork sandwich with a side (French fries) and a drink. Also had to try the coke cake. I was greeted by the staff who were very pleasant. The pork was moist and not dry like others have said. The fries were prepared right then and were not sitting under a warming lamp forever. The sandwich and fries were filling. Selma's catered the finance picnic for Dicks Sporting Goods. Ryan was great to work with and the food was beyond my expectations. Everything is made from scratch and is delicious. I highly recommend Selma's!
I tried this place for the first time last night after I heard positive things but I'm sorry I was very disappointed after the staff who was friendly telling me they were out of brisket and pulled pork, no big deal it was a Friday evening on Labor Day weekend. The ribs were nothing but heat and tough. The sauces I got tasted of to much vinegar and the baked beans had a vinegar taste too. Hushpuppies were burnt and the corn muffin was pretty basic. Maybe I just stopped on a bad night.
