After going to some of the top bridal stores in the city, I found myself at Selia Yang's after a frustrating few days shopping for a wedding dress. At the other boutiques, I had been met with pushy sales people, busy stores and gowns that couldn't be customized at all. Selia Yang's TriBeCa Showroom/Studio. First, its an unbelievable space (available for events/shows). Second, Selia Yang, the designer is actually there for your fitting! You'll see rows of her dream-come-true bridal & evening gowns. She only uses the best of best Italian silk, organza, chiffon, laces & every piece is hand-sewen/hand-beaded - so each piece is truly a work of art for the body. Her attention to detail is incredible - and bar none, the most original designs. I love my Selia Yang dress!
had to buy another dress days before my wedding – Originally I was SO in love with this designer and ordered my dress to be custom sewn from scratch. In the 9 fittings I had, I always had the same concerns that the straps were too wide and the dress did not look like the sample I based my purchase off of. Must See!!! Gorgeous Dresses and Incredible Sample Sales – The Showroom in Tribeca is such a beautiful, tranquil space away from the busy streets of NY. I went in with a friend who is also engaged and we both found our dresses the same day!!! We had made an appointment for the regular collection but were surprised to find they would be having a sample sale later on in the day. Fabulous dresses! – After visiting many top bridal salons around the city, I can say that the service is average. They certainly do not make you feel like you are just another bride on the schedule (like Vera Wang with her dirty floor samples and 20 other ladies trying on at the same dress at the same time as you), but the dressing rooms are a little small and the staff is a little dry. Bride's Worst Nightmare – It floors me that anyone would go here for wedding dresses, the experience is all around uncomfortable as the designer is uptight and silent for the most part untill the actual bride asks questions in which case she gives condecending yes answers to you. The ebsite hasnt been updated in a while so dont expect to find many of the dresses you see there actually in the store.
