Unfortunately the building is now kept at far too warm a temperature for "climate control". I'm sure the below ground levels are cooler, but we pay for climate control and the 3rd floor felt over 80 degrees last weekend. Sure it's summer, but we've had units on higher levels in Sterling and never felt it as warm as it is in our Reston unit. For what we pay (and yes they do raise rates every 6 months) it's unacceptable I no longer can store my shoes or other items effected by heat in this unit. I have been a Self Storage Plus customer for nearly 2 years, and I left a great review when I rented, because at that time they had good prices and great service. Since then, I have seen service at this location degrade while prices have risen astronomically - from around $70 to over $150! Apparently, they can and do raise the price every 6 months. They are down to just one employee for over 1000 storage units. I attempted to find a way to reduce my costs, and was told the only way to do that was to upgrade my unit and move ... read more
Facility is very modern and clean, elevators working, even carts to move things are available and working. Online signup was a breeze. However, upon first arrival the gate code I was assigned did not work. It took over an hour of waiting in the parking lot with them on the phone to finally get an access code that worked.
