I really love the care select gave my husband and I will tell everyone to try them.
My grandmother was brought to select on a ventilator. Very unpleasant experience. Very unorganized and sketchy place. I would never take another loved one to select specialty. At least to the Grosse Pointe location. Some of the floor staff members were great. Some were inconsistent with their work. They didn’t turn my grandmother enough. Always used the reason they were “understaffed” which they were most of the time. Especially with the CNAs. Staff within the same building has horrendous things to say about select specialty. If your family member or loved one is here and you are not persistently and very persistently active in being an advocate things can get way worse than they could be. A patient had a planned procedure to replace a stent which would be periodically replaced every 6 months. A doctor took the stent out and did not replace it. My loved one just passed away at select. Don’t let this place fool you. Equipment is janky. All the big chairs that they slide patients in are always broken. IV pumps are always going off and breaking. They were always replacing during my visit. Some of the nurses are great but some are bad. Majority of the staff were nice people. Many of the employees look overworked. I use to hear them in the hallway complain about management all the time. Not a good thing to hear as a patient’s family member.
