My son was at Select specialty for a month, a lot less time than what we thought would happen. Nurse Brenda was absolutely wonderful with him. He progressed very quickly so that he could transfer to skilled nursing closer to home. I was very impressed with all of the doctors and nurses that took care of him.
I was in this part of the hospital for over a month. And I have never received such better care as the nurses and doctors and CNA's in this hospital! I had a trach in for a while & the trach team was excellent! Everyone who assisted me was kind and caring and quick in their actions to help and assist! They followed protocol and used sanitizer and gloves and gowns every single time they entered the room. The room was cleaned every day. Everything was very neat and tidy. UPDATE: My dad got CANDIDA AURES from his stay there. He was tested for it immediately upon entering the next facility. Now he stuck in a home on strict isolation which is severely affecting his mental health Some of the staff was truly amazing but I had one in particular that pinched my dad's ear trying to put one of his monitors on causing my dad significant pain and when I told her she was doing it she continued to do it then was trying to untangle cords on the thing that held the bags of food and stuff and rammed it into... read more
Some of the staff was truly amazing but I had one in particular that pinched my dad's ear trying to put one of his monitors on causing my dad significant pain and when I told her she was doing it she continued to do it then was trying to untangle cords on the thing that held the bags of food and stuff and rammed it into the bed 4 times before finally getting help from another person with it.. they very seldom gave me updates about anything and even removed his trach without informing they were doing so.
