I'd give 0 stars if I could, such a terrible bedside manner. I completely understand the nickname "Butcher of Beloit" because he butchered my chest during a mole removal and left me with a nasty scar. Segal was the first dermatologist I ever saw and I didn't realize what a terrible experience I had until I recently saw a new dermatologist who treated me like a human being. Non cooperative.
Dr Segal came in the room and was extremely rude . He was upset with me because I had a mole that was suspicious and needed to be removed. I made the appointment to have it removed and they were 30 days out. In that meantime I had an appointment with my breast surgeon ( post breast cancer ) at UW. She also sees Melanoma patients and said she was not comfortable with me waiting 30 days. I took that seriously and let her remove my mole. I didn’t think it was a big deal to let her remove it. I first went to this dermatologist about four years ago after another doctor recommended a shampoo that didn’t help. He wanted to do a biopsy, but I was nervous and left. I recently went back, finally ready for the biopsy, and he said, “I don’t want to put my hand in the pot,” then refused to treat me. He was rude and dismissive from the start. He also has worked on my grandpa and husband, and we’ve joked ever since about his poor, uneven stitches — people around here even call him “the butcher of Beloit.” After this experie... read more
Do not recommend this dermatologist to anyone. Maybe if you look like him he’ll care about your outcomes. Poor bedside actions, can’t really say bedside manners since there are none. He does not explain what he is doing or looking for nor does he offer suggestions to deal with issue in which one is going to a dermatologist for.
