I love SSE. I order every year and am never disappointed. On Sunday, my daughter and I prepared and froze 9 gallons of tomatoes. Today, just 3 days later, I picked and weighed another 46 pounds! We had another evening of tomato preserving. My favorites this year were the Halladay's Mortgage Lifter, Mamie Brown's Pink and the beautiful Kellogg's Breakfast. It is just stunning. Thank you for another great garden!!

Headquartered about five miles outside of Decorah, Iowa on the 890-acre, Heritage Farm, Seed Savers Exchange is a nonprofit dedicated to saving and sharing heirloom seeds. Great idea, but be sure upfront any expectations seed exchange people have. I replied to someone giving seeds. With some messenger chat they told me seeds they would like to have. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to send seeds as quickly as they expected and have been stalked with messages nearly daily! I had not agreed on sending anything right away. But this was their expectation. Just be clear on what everyone wants to see happen. I have a nice envelope to send to them tomorrow when I get to town but have blocked the... read more

My favorite place! Love the varieties of seeds and the spring plant sale! My family loves to visit and take a picnic. We like to see the herd of ancient white cattle or in the summer see the chickens and other farm animals. The grounds are also amazing for pictures or walks.
